KNV Music Therapy officially announces its blog identity as “Songs from the heart!” This beautiful name evolved from a suggestion made by my cousin Michelle who was interested in music in early childhood and as she raises her new son, specifically the soothing sounds of a mother’s heart beat. I too feel strongly about the use of music with infants and as a music therapist I recognize this simple rhythm (a heart beat) as a basic foundation for music.
Michelle also provided me this quote which links music and prayer. “There is nothing in the world so much like prayer as music is.”- William P. Merrill. Another family member (Uncle Jeff) also recognized that these two aspects were not only important to my career choice, but to life as a whole. With the suggestions and encouragement from family and friends I am proud to announce this blog identity as one the beautifully integrates music and prayer. Welcome and I look forward to sharing all things music with you!
